Hyderabad: The journey to Civil Services attracts many aspirants as it requires solutions to complex social, cultural, economic, and political challenges. Dr. G. Vivekananda, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Defense, spoke at a seminar titled “Civil Services – the G.O.A.T Career for Fresh Graduates,” organized by Telangana Today, Namasthe Telangana, and Reflections IAS Academy at CMR Institute of Technology in Medchal on Saturday.

Key Insights on UPSC Preparation

Dr. Vivekananda offered essential insights into UPSC exam preparation, emphasizing the importance of problem-solving and identifying challenges. “The focus shifts from rote memorization to building analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset, which are crucial in administrative roles,” he stated. He added that securing a UPSC position brings job stability and empowers individuals to address societal issues effectively.

Engaging Student Participation

The seminar encouraged active engagement, with students participating in discussions and asking questions. When a final-year student, Rehman, inquired about alternative career plans while preparing for UPSC, Dr. Vivekananda recommended focused, consistent study, noting that serious preparation can lead to success in under two years, often eliminating the need for a “Plan B.”
