Tamil Nadu Minister Slams BJP, Questions Pawan Kalyan’s Role

Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister PK Sekar Babu strongly criticized the BJP for organizing the Murugan Conference in Madurai, calling it a political show driven by internal rivalry and questioning the involvement of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

Minister Claims BJP Leaders Are Competing for Popularity

Sekar Babu said the event wasn’t about faith but more about political one-upmanship between Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran and former state president K. Annamalai.

“This conference was held only because Nainar and Annamalai are competing for popularity. Let the result come; we’ll react then,” he said.

Questions Raised Over Pawan Kalyan’s Relevance to Tamil Nadu

The minister mocked Pawan Kalyan’s presence at the event and questioned his connection to Tamil Nadu politics.

“Who is Pawan Kalyan? What role does he play in Tamil Nadu? If he wants, let him contest from a Chennai constituency, win it, and then we’ll hear him out,” Sekar Babu added.

BJP Accused of Playing Divisive Politics

Sekar Babu accused the BJP of using religion, language, and identity to divide people instead of focusing on inclusive development.

“People of Tamil Nadu will decide in 2026 if they want development or the BJP–Sanghi group that creates division,” he said.

Pawan Kalyan Defends Hindu Beliefs, Criticizes Selective Targeting

Speaking at the Murugan Conference, Pawan Kalyan took a veiled dig at the DMK. He accused some political leaders of promoting separatist ideologies and targeting Hinduism while avoiding criticism of other religions.

He said Lord Murugan is a symbol of unity across India and urged Hindus to stand firm against any disrespect.

“When a sadhu gets angry, even forests cannot survive,” he warned, urging people to take pride in their faith and stand united.
